Meet The Chef

Michael Kogan - Quality food, rich flavors, and a curiosity of different cuisines are what drives Michael Kogan. Raised in Brooklyn the seasoned chef graduated from The French Culinary Institute in 2005, and has been working in the fine dining scene ever Michael’s culinary journey has afforded him positions working in such celebrated restaurants such as Eleven Madison Park, Blue Hill NYC, Culinary Concepts by Jean Georges, and The Core Club where he worked under Chef Dan Kluger. Presently, Michael serves as the Banquet Chef at the iconic Tavern on the Green in Central Park.

Michael's love affair with cooking and consulting is what drives him as the proud owner of MK Caters.

As a personal chef, Michael is excited to expand his reach, bringing bold flavors and top-notch culinary skill set to private dinner parties and celebrations held around the tri-state area and the Hamptons.

Owners and operators can call on him to help with debuts of eateries and reworkings of their kitchens. With MK Caters, Michael has consulted on the openings of two successful businesses in Brooklyn - The Owls Head Wine Bar, and ALC Italian Grocery.

When Michael is not busy cooking for others, you can find him at his Brooklyn home cooking for his family and thinking up unique baby food recipes for his daughter, Charlie Rayne.
